Welcome!
The MA in Ancient Mediterranean Cultures offers a unique approach to the study of the ancient world. This new graduate program provides students with a broad foundation for the interdisciplinary study of ancient cultures surrounding the Mediterranean basin, including the linguistic, analytical and communication skills necessary for future academic or non-academic employment.
The MA program joins the strengths of two departments: Classical Studies at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. It is offered by Classical Studies and Archaeology Departments, with vital involvement of Near Eastern specialists, and looks beyond the traditional boundaries of Classics graduate programs. With a combined contingent of 13 regular and eight adjunct faculty members, our program encompasses one of the largest body of scholars in Canada. As a result, each student can expect substantial individual attention from an expert in his or her area of interest.
